1. Scope
This policy applies to the Cat Gatekeeper browser extension and the Cat Gatekeeper desktop app for macOS and Windows, provided by ZOKUZOKU. Their data practices differ, so each product is described separately below.
2. Browser Extension
The browser extension stores the following information in your browser's local storage to provide its features.
- Target site settings
- Usage time limit settings
- Break time settings
- Timer state
This information is not sent to external servers. The extension does not use external services for advertising, analytics, or tracking.
3. Information Stored on Your Device by the Desktop App
The desktop app stores the following information on your computer to provide its features.
- Work time, break time, auto-repeat, display language, and other app settings
- Cat images you explicitly select for the custom cat feature and their motion settings
- Downloaded community cat content and, when paid Star Cat features are available, purchased assets
- When purchase features are available, purchase identifiers, verification timestamps, download status, and other entitlement records
- Update notice state
Photos and generated images used by the custom cat feature are processed and stored on your device and are not uploaded to an external server.
4. Desktop App Network Communications
The desktop app uses HTTPS connections only for the following purposes.
- Retrieving update notices and public community cat information and images
- When paid Star Cat features are available, verifying purchases and restored purchases from the App Store or Microsoft Store
- When paid Star Cat features are available, downloading purchased assets
When paid Star Cat features are available and purchase verification is required, the app sends a store-issued transaction identifier or Store ID key used to check entitlements to ZOKUZOKU's purchase verification service. The service queries Apple or Microsoft to confirm that the relevant product entitlement is valid. ZOKUZOKU does not receive your name, email address, payment card number, or billing details.
Technical information such as IP address, request time, requested endpoint, and response status may be processed by hosting providers for content delivery, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
5. Service Providers
- Apple App Store and Microsoft Store: payments, purchases, restoration, and entitlement verification when paid Star Cat features are available
- Cloudflare Workers and R2: purchase verification, request rate limiting, and asset delivery when paid Star Cat features are available
- GitHub Pages and Cloudflare R2: update notices and public content delivery
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. Cat Gatekeeper does not use these services for advertising, behavioral tracking, or user profiling.
6. Retention and Security
Settings, photos, assets, and entitlement records stored on your device remain there until you delete them in the app or remove the app data. Apple and Microsoft manage Store purchase history under their respective policies.
When paid Star Cat features are offered, ZOKUZOKU's purchase verification service does not create user accounts or store purchase identifiers in a permanent customer database. Cloudflare may retain technical request and response metadata in Worker logs for up to seven days. The Worker does not include custom code that writes purchase verification request bodies or purchase identifiers to logs.
Purchase verification and asset delivery use encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to paid assets is controlled by short-lived authorization tokens.
7. Information We Do Not Collect or Use
Cat Gatekeeper does not collect, sell, or use the following information for advertising.
- Direct contact information such as your name or email address, unless you provide it when contacting us
- Payment card numbers, bank account details, or billing addresses
- Advertising IDs, contacts, or precise location
- Browsing history, visited pages, social media posts, or usage of other apps
- Keystrokes, screen contents, or file contents other than images you explicitly select for the custom cat feature
We do not sell user information or use it for third-party advertising or cross-service tracking.
8. Your Choices
You can remove extension settings through your browser and delete custom cats from within the desktop app. Other local information can be removed by deleting the app's data. Use the account and purchase management tools provided by Apple or Microsoft for Store purchase history and payment information.
